Here is the final cover design. We purchased the high resolution stock photo and created the intricate mask that knocks out the background and isolates the children.

We changed the dates and the year and added the web address. We also retouched the photo as needed.

The thumbnail is a maximum quality JPEG in the RGB color format (300 pixels tall, 300 ppi resolution).

We found this great stock photo of a diverse group of kids putting their hands together in a circle. It is only a low resolution comping image at this point, and will look even better when we replace it with the high resolution image.

We created the new heading that incorporates a three dimensional image of the Earth into the title to emphasis the International aspect of the Conference.

The monochromatic color palette consisting of blues and purples used in the background with subtle lighting effects applied makes the rainbow of colorful clothing on the children stand out and catch the eye.

The rainbow of colorful clothes along with the ethnic, gender, and age diversity of the children effectively commutates the world wide relevance of the Conference.

The slightly off center layout works well with the photo, and provides a fresh look and feel to the piece overall since the layouts have typically been centered in past years.
